Before you arrive

Choose two or three references and note what you like about each. Include your current haircut and relevant color history. Write down the time and effort you want to spend on everyday styling.

  • Identify your preferred finished length.
  • List anything that must stay possible, like tying your hair back.
  • Note products or tools you already use.
  • Bring one example of what you do not want.

Agree on the brief

Ask your stylist to describe what they would adapt for your own hair, rather than assuming the reference can be copied exactly.

  • Where will the shortest piece land when dry?
  • What is the difference between the cut and the styling in the photo?
  • What upkeep should I expect?
  • What will the service cost and how long will it take?

Before you leave

Make sure you can explain the styling steps back in your own words. Ask what to do if the finish looks different at home, and how to plan the next appointment. A useful consultation ends with a routine you actually understand.

Your hair, your version

Use these ideas to get curious and find what you love. Your stylist can help turn the inspiration into a plan for your own hair. AI previews and salon results can look different; these guides offer ideas, not a personal stylist assessment.
